Adams County Winery presented a check in the amount of $6,217.02 to the Adams County SPCA on January 28, 2016. Presenting the donation was the staff and winery’s owner Katherine Bigler, pictured with the winery’s mascot, Rusty. Receiving this donation on the part of the shelter was Ann Birely, President. This donation will mark the ninth year of the winery’s fundraiser to benefit the ACSPCA.
The primary fundraising event for the shelter was the Sixth Annual Rusty’s Birthday Bash in celebration of Rusty, the winery’s Golden Retriever VIP (very important pet). Hundreds of visiting dogs and their owners enjoyed live music, food demonstrations, custom wine labels for pets and people, and a Rusty’s Sidekick photo contest. This one-day event, as well as the donations from guests at the winery and the custom labeled bottles of wine “Rusty’s Red”, helped raise the donated funds.
